Tips To Help You Refill Pre Inked Stamps

By Andrea Davidson

Pre inked stamps are a great way to get your important documents marked without having to stop and refill the stamper continuously. These fabulous little office tools can be used repeatedly before having to refill the product.

Depending on the type of product that has been purchased, there may be a users manual accompanying the stamper to give you specific details regarding how you go through the process of refilling the product. If there are no manuals with your stamper, you can also take a quick glance at the company website as many of them will have tips and tricks to help you refill the stamper quickly and easily. However, even without a manual or website available, most of the time, these products are very similar and will not only function in the same way but, refill the same way.

Before you begin refilling your stamper you will want to get a roll of paper towels and some rubber gloves. Because refilling a stamper can sometimes get a bit messy, it is a good idea not only to cover your hands while you are working but, your work surface as well. There are no unique, costly rubber gloves needed to get this job done. You can purchase them pretty much anywhere at varying costs.

Once your work surface and hands have been protected from any possible spills, carefully expose the cartridge to be refilled.Depending on the brand that you have purchased, the cartridge can usually be exposed just by either pushing or sliding a tray aside.

After you have exposed the stamper, you will see there is an area where the liquid can be placed. You maybe surprised to realize that the product will only take a few tiny drops before it is filled to its limit. Often, it's as few as six drops or fewer to reach the fill level.

While you might be tempted to try to add more liquid to the cartridge to lessen the number of refills you need, the fact is overfilling it will just lead to smudging on your documents when you use it. Once it is full, allow the stamper time to rest before you begin to use it.

Before using the stamp on a document that is important be sure to test it out on a piece of paper to ensure that smudging has not occurred. Occasionally, even if you are really careful about how you have filled the cartridge, smudging may occur so, you will want to be sure to do a test first.

The frequency of refilling pre inked stamps depends on different factors. The size as well as the usage will both dictate how often it needs to be refilled. It is also important to remember, that they can dry out and then need to be filled again. To get the best quality imprint on every paper, be sure to purchase the same brand of refill ink. There are often optional colors to choose from but, again sticking with the original color will likely help you to maintain the same quality print.
