What if I could give you one, simple four-letter word that will allow you to get through any business issue? What if that word will allow you to handle difficult clients? What if that word would help you greatly increase your income? Would you be interested in hearing it? It is not the four letter word you may be thinking! (Ha, ha)! The four letter word I'm talking about is the most essential 4 letter word in your business! Ready? Here you go. The four letter word I'm talking about is TIME! That is right, TIME!
Let me tell you why this is THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD in your business. You can always make more money, get more business and work with more clients. However, the absolute one thing you can not possibly gain more of is TIME. We all have the same 24-hours a day. The question to ask yourself is, "How are you CHOOSING to spend your time?" Are you spending your time on pointless activities, especially those that aren't making you money? If you are, then you had better adjust your mindset, and it needs to be changed immediately.
If you're RUNNING A BUSINESS, and if you're in business to generate money, then you have to be very conscious of how you CHOOSE to spend your time.
As you can imagine, I am quite the busy person. I'm coaching hundreds of Platinum Coaching Program members that each require a one-day in-person consulting. Additionally, I spend two days each month on Platinum Members telephone consulting. On top of that, I conduct two audio recordings each month for Platinum Members, writing a marketing tip each month for Platinum Members, running a Speaker Boot Camp every six months, and host six different two-day Mastermind Meetings in different locations. If you thought that was a busy schedule, I get interviewed throughout the year for teleseminars, speak for colleges, universities and corporations, speak at speaker events where I sell my products. Then, I developed three new audio home study courses while writing three new books. Furthermore, I co-authored two books with Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen and might possibly co-author a third book with Jack.
In addition, I write a Success & Motivation Newsletter each month for another coaching group I have consisting of over 200 members. Nonetheless, I'm quite busy. Despite all this, I still made seven figures last year while taking the time to have three personal vacations for enjoyment. How can I possibly get all of these activities done while still making a very high income? The answer is simple. Prior to taking on any new activity, I ask myself one basic question about the potential task. Here's the question:
"Is this business activity that I'm thinking about GIVING my time to going to put money in my pocket?"
If my response to the question is NO, then I'm not GIVING my time to it. Period! I'll delegate the task to somebody else! I make it a priority to examine how I SPEND MY TIME! I'm consistently looking at my schedule to ensure I'm CHOOSING to allocate my time to activities that are income producing. One of my rules I've followed over the past couple of years is, "I don't do anything I could pay somebody $10-$100 an hour to do for me. It may sound easy, but, it's extremely profound. If what you're working on doesn't have the potential to create income, why are you doing it?
My challenge to you is to:
* Stop CHOOSING to spend time on activities that won't bring you money, and
* Start getting others to do those non-income generating activities for you!
When you do, watch how quickly your earnings increases, your schedule opens up and your energy level improves! You can do it. It just requires you to adjust your mindset!
